Son wants to change to 1 x 11 on his bike, seen those CRC XT drivetrain kits for £249. His wheels have Shimano SLX M665 hubs, will the 11 speed cassette go on ok? Cheers

Yes, the MTB 11 speed cassettes will fit on the Shimano MTB freehubs without any problems.
11 speed is a great upgrade!!

I recently bought the same upgrade for my m785 xt hubs, which I presume are similar. Unlike road bikes, 11speed mountain bike cassettes fit on 10sp hubs, so it all works a treat.
The other thing you need to be careful with is the gear shifter mounting. I had some previous generation xt brakes, which required the Ispec B shifters.
