Bought one of these the other day for the FuelEX, (it's current one is rattly)... Must admit, i'm pretty impressed, fast, smooth, light action, nicely put together. I paid £71 with the UPGRADE discount code, which is pretty darn cheap. Obviously comes with warranty.
Only downside is that it doesn't have a cable (either inner or outer) but i was using mine and leaving the inner in place anyhow so not an issue for me.
Impressed.
Top dropper! Same as the Brand X Ascend but different branding.
clicked through, wondered what droper seatposts they might have for my 27.2 bike, clicked to the dropper post section and.. no way to filter by post dimensions. What a truely awful website.
Indeed. I know of this one (only because I bought the 105mm versions for my kids' bikes recently): https://www.chainreactioncycles.com/p/brand-x-ascend-cx-dropper-seatpost-85-and-105mm
Did it come with a lever? Be an even better bargain if it does.
Ordered, cheers!
Ohh tempting to replace my older 120mm one.
Only problem is I serviced it and must have used an incompatible grease as it's stripped the anodizing off it and it now runs a bit rough as the aluminum wears off. Still works as needed though, just looks/feels a bit rough.
What sort of lever did it come with?
In what context mate ? I can go in and take a pic if needed as i didn't use the lever so it's still in it's little plastic bag.
Is it a 1x shifter type lever or the cheap crappy 2x levers (more like the original reverb style)?
My Occam came with one of those 5 years ago (no idea if it’s the same design still) and it’s still just working. I haven’t touched it at all. Brilliant bit of kit.

Great, thanks!
I've got another lever off a BrandX from my last FuelEX as well as i re-used the lever on that too 😀
I seem to be collecting levers for droppers.

cheers, trouble is its rated at >50kg rider weight (my kid, who its for, weighs half that) meaning i'm stuck with the kid-specific post at half the wieght.
They could do with a longer kids version. It's a really short post overall which means on a smaller frame there is very little scope for raising the saddle height. Going to have no choice but an adult one for my daughter soon as she is nearly at min insertion and already had a really tall saddle.

You're probably aware (especially if it's already arrived), the lever with this is for Road \ CX bars so too big a diameter for mtb bars.
I’ve got a Brand X Ascend dropper too. A great, cheap, seatpost. The only thing I’d say as a slight criticism is that the collar is quite tall, which can slightly limit the length of the drop.

Sorry, I should've mentioned that. Indeed. I had spare 1x levers I'd accumulated so no used those.

My kids are 35kg and 29kg. Both getting on great with the 'adult' CX dropper in 27.2 110mm variety. I'd tried my kids on the 200mm Brand X droppers on my own bikes before buying theirs, so knew it'd be OK with their lighter weight.
On the one you had @weeksey remove the rod at the btm of the actuator ,the bit that goes up inside the cartridge and wrap the thin rod in PTFE tape .this stops the rattle and there's enough clearance for one wrap .

interesting - it goes down fast enough without too much stiction? My fear is he'll sit on it and it'll just stay up 🙂

Not as fast as mine with my, ahem, considerable additional weight but quick enough not to be an issue. My eldest (almost 11) grasped the technique of using it straight off, my youngest (8) has struggled with the timing of the actuation, etc a bit - more an age/maturity thing. But their lighter weight isn't an issue 🙂

My skinny but quite tall 10 year old (maybe 30kg) has no problem operating the adult Brand X post.
Both of ours had the bog standard 27.2 Brand X posts from about 25kg on; you can take a bit of air out of the cartridge, and once they have the technique down it's plain sailing. A heck of a lot less faff than dropping the post for them with a QR every time. Thinking back, I think I'd probably fit one of these before any other stealth parent upgrade - and our Orbea MX 20s ended up with disc brakes, narrow wide chainrings and chopped Fox Forx by the time they'd grown out of them.
