You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Well on Sunday I crashed at reasonably high speed descending Caddon Bank at Inners. I was on my carbon ht mid orienteering type race. It brought the day to an abrupt end, 5 stitches, not much pain but a fair amount of claret. Anyway today I woke up and I feel like I've been in a car crash. I'm aching all over, massive bruises down my right and can't put any weight on my right arm without grimacing. It then made me realise I've not crashed badly since 2007 at Kirry, and was actually quite pleased with 2 semi bad crashes in 7 years. I've taken a big dose of Growacet and I'm going to try and get back on it tomorrow but know I'm going to mince around with a lack of confidence. Crashing sucks.
Chicks dig scars.
Crashing sucks - more as I get older.
If you really do feel like you've been in a car crash and "can't put any weight on my right arm without grimacing", it might be worth taking an extra couple of days off.
Don't go back to work till Wednesday, not that I do anything physically demanding, and yes the scar's going to look ace.
If you're not crashing, you're not trying hard enough.
Or maybe it is a lack of ability.
I've got really good at crashing, but I fall into the second camp.
Get some ibuprofen down you, if they haven't given you anything stronger, and although I salute the sentiment, there's not much point in getting back on a bike til you are in less pain.
If you cannot bear weight on the arm in another day or two you might need to get it checked again just in case there's a hairline fracture that didn't show up on x-ray.
Had my first big crash of the year on Saturday, over handlebars at speed managed to snap thumb back - just a bit of swelling and mild bruising - and got a pretty impressive double pedal mark down my left leg.
Could have been much worse though I guess, still a bit sore.
Was back out on Sunday though being a muppet on a BMX so all good!
Hope you recover quickly OP.
