No spoilers yet but well worth watching the replay.
Damn I’m getting used to hearing Warner and Elliot on the mic again. Men’s winning run was a little bit… on the edge, to say the least!
That was a hugey.
Well worth watching. Daughter says trackside atmosphere was amazing
Again, not wanting to introduce spoilers, but does anyone know if he is alright?
Good race! Winning run was wild and the big crash was savage. Literally my worst nightmare, hope the rider is ok.

We may have to wait until well after breakfast time for any updates.

His Insta shows him saying he is 100% fine, which I am sure is a relief.
Is anyone going to touch the elephant in the room? I.e. how on earth does a frame do that? Surely the wheel should go first?
Prototype that should’ve been replaced far sooner, if the talk about what it had already been through is correct.
From the pic I saw it looked like the carbon had de-bonded from the lug, rather than snapped.
There are pictures on Vital that show the carbon tubes in one piece and you can even see the colour difference from where it was inserted into the lug. It's just pulled out.
I think one of the lugs maybe has a crack in it but the pic isn't great so hard to tell.
Interesting to see which way Pivot go with this. They either show what happened and explain the failure and tell everyone exactly how it'll never happen again. Or they'll act like it never happened.
Couple of the youngsters looked seriously fast. And sketchy.
If it was the same frame that tested and raced the hard-line jumps it's not had the easiest life .
This video shows the crash close up, including the mangled frame at around 40 seconds.
If you freeze frame it, you can see the tube has been pulled clean out of the lug and both look intact, from that angle at least.
Edit to add: on second look, does seem like the top lug might have failed…

I did wonder if that was the same frame that took the massive, bottom-out hit on the Hardline road-gap step-down in early tests.
That video on my big screen (doing this at work obviously!) is a lot clearer than the screen grabs I saw earlier. It does look like the top lug opened up. They are very thin walled and they don't have the double lap feature that the Atherton bikes have. Detailed pics available in the Pivot factory tour.

He's got more than one frame apparently. People who pay way more attention than me pointed out the different colour stickers and stuff.

Well, I think one thing everyone agrees on is that it will be replaced now...
I'm not getting any work done this morning. And the sun is shining for the first time in months so I probably won't do anything this afternoon either.
Here are some pics stolen from Vital...
Pivot lugs. It's the top piece here which looks like it split in the video.

And an Atherton one for comparison even though it's titanium and would probably be impossible to CNC

I loved seeing the younger riders coming through with such fast runs. Same with Hardline last week.
yep!
