I'm wanting to replace the rather heavy Rival 22 cranks on my Tempest for something substantially lighter. It's a screw-in (BSA? GXP?) bottom bracket, which it seems rules out anything from FSA, which are all BB30. SRAM Red would be ok, but seem to be discontinued in GXP 11 speed flavour. Force doesn't really offer much weight saving over Rival. Ultegra also not particularly lighter. Preusmably some older 10 speed FSA cranks would work with 11 speed, if I can find them with a MegaExo axle?
Anyone got any suggestions?
Cheers!
The Force crank arms were carbon. They'l be as light as your going to get with big rings.
If your counting crank grams, also look at your shoe and pedal weight.
Your legs will spin faster if you get thinner too.
KCNC might be worth a look?
I enjoy cyclocross, so sometimes seat posts are cut down to reduce weight. Seat posts are often much longer than they need to be. Perhaps you can upgrade your seat to a lighter one? You can also switch the components out for vented aluminium grub screws.
