After some advice/guidance, I am after some new cranks for my MTB that have a 24mm diameter axle, accepts a 28 tooth chainring and is boost/ 52mm chainline compatible.

I have seen Shimano's cranks come in 24mm but dont go down to 28mm sprocket, what else is there? I've looked at other brands such as SRAM, raceface, Hope, Trutiv but they are all DUB or 30mm.

Presumably you're just a BB away from being able to run DUB or 30mm - I'd be tempted to find the cranks that suit and get a BB to match.

The pain is I've just paid out RRP on a Hope BB which has been fitted and has a few rides on it, so would like to limit my losses if possible and keep it, but if getting a new crank and BB is only way then so be it I guess

This. Limiting your crank choice by not changing your BB is crazy.

Or just get any of the new range of Shimano 12 speed compatible cranks and a 28T chainring. The Deore M6100 crank is pretty reasonable.

Why do you need a 28t?

Sounds like 2x might be a better option?

Bike came stock with a 28tooth on the front, after fitting heavy tyres, inserts and coil shock I do like the 28 - 42 for whinching up steep or long climbs

Looks like I'll have to bite the bullet and do cranks and BB, bummer after paying £90 on a BB and only getting a handful of rides on it.

As guitarhero says, get a deore (or above) 12 speed crank and a 12 speed chainring for it. Garbaruk make one in round or oval that suits your needs. Can be ordered from Gone Biking Mad.

Shimano 11 speed cranks (M7000, M8000) can fit a 28t NSB chainring:

For the new 12 speed Shimano cranks (M6100, M7100, M8100, M9100) you can get a 28t chainring from Shimano.
