Looking at these for new bike, and wondered If they are any good ? Most of the earlier reviews on CRC say no. Have they got them sorted yet. Also, will SPD cleats work with them, as still have xtr's on my hardtail, and don't want to be changing cleats/shoes also.

Cleats are completely different.
The 1/2/3 level tells you about the bearings.
There is a big change between the old ones and the new ones. These can be split in 2 and bearings changed in about 10 mins.
The 3 has better bearings than the 2. I've had a set for 2 years and done 1 bearing change.
Great platform, much better clipping and unclipping than shimano IMHO.
Running CD Level 3 pedals across all my bikes (candies and mallets)
Totally worth the 3's not sure about the 2's
