Got a Joplin dropper cheap as chips. Knew it wasn't working properly. N

Seat drops all the time and sounds like it's losing air out of the bottom when compressed.

Any tips on how to fix it?

Try putting a new schrader valve core in it (couple of quid for a new valve core and tool).

I can't even get the bloody bolt off the bottom! Turning and not going anywhere.

Contact http://www.southcoastsuspension.co.uk as im sure they use to service them.

Failing that, id bin it...even if you got it working, it won't be reliable

(Former owner of two Joplins who still has them in bits in the loft as i refuse to allow others to suffer by taking them on to 'repair')

As another former owner of a Joplin, whilst they worked (which was a matter of hours) they were a good introduction to dropper posts about 6/7 years back. I wou;dn't dream of having one now when Reverbs can be picked up for £80 on eBay which in my experience are hugely reliable, have more drop, remotes, can be easily and widely serviced etc.

Honestly, Joplins, bin them.

There are a few things Crank Brothers make that work. The Craplin isn't one of them.

Bin it.

It's supposed to displace some air through the tube.

I found it pretty straight forward to service.

The one I was working on was dropping and wouldn't hold height.

I changed the oil and set the pressure and it was golden.

You will need a tool to remove the schrader core.
