Planning to do the MBR Killer Loop in Cranborne Chase - I can see a very long climb on a byway from Tollard Royal toward the top - What about the path along Ashcombe Bottom itself? Could it be more interesting?

thanks,

Gilles

Go to the Dorset rough riders Facebook page or website and ask on there. They occasionally go over that area and know the trails better.

Me, I live 10 miles away and it is all easily got to from my doorstep, but I hardly ever go that way as I find it quite dull or massively overgrown in places, and the BOATs are heavily used by Motorbikes and 4x4s.

On a road bike though, the roads rounds there are ace!

Sorry was a bit short in the previous post. It's not a great loop. There's no single track and I wouldn't call the climbs killer. And you can't park at the airfield anymore.

Where are based / starting from? Purbeck would be my 1st recommendation. There's some nice rides in the Bulbarrow direction.

And yes DRR can probably suggest some routes...
