Spent an hour swapping out the standard handlebars and stem off the Pitch this morning, replacing them with an Easton Havoc bar and Nukeproof 60mm stem. This is a similar setup to what I have on the Blue Pig and have been very happy with the way it handles. Cos I suffer from a bit of asthma, I find the wider bars allow my chest to be a wee bit more open, making breathing easier. Does the wide bar improve the handling of the bike? Yes, I think it does, despite what the sceptics may think.
I took the bike out for a quick shakedown this afternoon...mainly to prove to myself I'd tightened everything sufficiently. Despite the dodgy weather of the last few weeks, the trails around Linlithgow weren't too shabby today. Big thank you to the guys up at Muiravonside who've been out and about clearing fallen trees - tried cycling over by Bo'ness a couple of weeks back and had to give up...trees down every 50 yards or so.
Anyone else out in the area? Saw a couple of roadies, but no one else.
Cheers,
Andy
Meh, stuck in the office 🙁 Looks like a great day for riding
With a nipper who's 2 and 1/2, time's at a premium at weekends, so I had to dip in to the holiday fund. Fortunately, the weather was kind to me.
