This is annoying, when cleaning the bike I noticed the rear rim has a tiny crack around a spoke.
Unfortunately (for me), the wheels are Prime Attaquer, bought from Chain Reaction Cycles 2023. So no chance of warranty.
I'm assuming getting a rim to match will be impossible. I'm looking looking for a replacement wheelset <£500, in anyone has any recommendations.
Can't rebuild with a pair of new rims on the old hubs?
Would it matter if the rims don't match?
No way I'd risk a low 20/24 spoke count after my weight increase over the last two years, but if you're considerably closer to 70Kg than I am these days, https://www.merlincycles.com/vision-team-30-disc-clincher-road-wheelset-107000.html for £150 before using a loyalty voucher is a bargain IMO.
Can't see the VEL 50 RLs on the Sigma website, mine were ~£360 two years ago.
Doubt I'd trust Hunt again after freehub failed on my Aero Light Discs after ~27 months of just spring-summer use, took bike up on train to see mum's new place and had to abandon first attempt to ride to Road To Hell climb.
Have a look on the Freewheel website, they’re Shimano and DT Swiss importers. Some of the Shimano wheelsets can be outstanding value for money with parts back up too.
Wel if having a different rim on your bike would annoy you just spend a pad of money on some new wheels, you obviously have enough.
How much more use will you get out of the bike this winter?
If it'll only be a few weeks then I'd be tempted to wait for the inevitable bargains.

This +1
I cracked a rim on my 4-month old carbon wheels a couple of weeks ago, they've a crash replacement discount (£100 for the rim rather than the usual £300 retail) but the rim graphics are slightly different - I can live with it.

Clearly he does. Hence the reason his post asked for recommendations on buying a new wheelset!
There will be plenty of alloy wheels out there for 500 quid. I'd look at scribe race which are fairly light.
It's an alloy rim, right? Can you unlace the spoke, add a spoke washer to the spoke hole and some epoxy to the crack and then relace and retension? The original nipple should be long enough to cope with a washer, but if not, just buy a longer nipple for <50p.
Then just keep an eye on it.

So why bother with the irrelevant story about a cracked rim?
So why bother with the irrelevant story about a cracked rim?
Because someone will pipe up with "well why do you want new wheels?" or "what's wrong with the current wheels?"
Or because there'll be a suggestion of "buy some secondhand Prime Attaquer wheels!" which I'm guessing will be an unacceptable answer!
It would however have been very useful to provide info on the type of wheels required; thru-axle or QR, rim brake or disc brake, will they be used tubeless, 10/11/12sp...?
Is it the front or rear thats cracked?
I've got loads of those knocking around, and bound to have a few with broken spokes and or hubs.
I can probably take a rim off for you, and send it over.. Will happilty rebuild too if you want
Drop me a PM..
you can contact prime yourself. warranty is with the company not the place you bought them from.

Technically, yes. However, when they're an in house brand of a company's B2B arm, to which the IP was sold to the new owner after the administrator took over, then unfortunately I think that will get a similar reply to the one above.

Yep tried them at the same time. They've turn that account off "Delivery Status Notification (Failure)"
I do have a customer server email address for CRC, so they're getting some from me!
