Was thinking about this the other day. Not too keen showing off my bike when it goes in and out of the car etc...for obvious reasons.. anyone thought about covering there's up with anything just so it is not identifable - so basically a cover of some kind..any ideas?? May look into making something if need be...

Try a Ground Effect 'Tardis', no padding, but compresses yoru bike to an unidentifiable package.

Get the misses to follow you with a large golfing brolly at a strategic angle!!
Seriously though you do have to wonder at people who have several grands worth of bike on full view and then wonder why its been nicked !!

Yep, always cover it up when I can. Usually with an old sheet or use a plain bike bag.

You can't win either way in my opinion 🙁 If you leave it in plain view it's obvious, if you cover it up it's also obvious that you're trying to cover something potentially valuable.

Remove decals from forks etc. Respray frame. Affix Apollo decals. Nobody will look twice at it.

There is no need to make anything, just look out at the petrol stations for when they have picnic blankets on sale. I think I picked up two for a fiver last year which are perfect for lining the boot of the car. They tend to have a water retardant side which keeps the worst of the water/mud from soaking into the boot or seats of your car and my ones are grey so kind of blend in with the colour of the upholstery. They also seem fairly tough as nether has ripped yet and both have caught on pedals and gears.

cheap bike bag? Or knock up a basic bag out of some canvas that you can easily slip the bike into in the car and carry it into the house.

Or this place was posted yesterday: http://www.duffbag.com/products/bike-bags

was thinking of a bike-bag / cover type thing but where the wheels are exposed so can be wheeled around...but stays attached to the frame and bits..bit like the blankets that horses have attached to them in winter

thanks all
