Morning all

Due to imminent garage rebuild i need to store my bike on the house. Naturally my missus isn't happy about this so to prevent divorce, does anyone recommend a bike cover/bag that i can put a possibly muddy 29er into in the House. I know Evoc do one but its a bit pricey!

Cheers
dc

Where are you? I have a huge CRC bike bag ye can have for a princely sum!.

Even if you're not near me (Ayrshire), this would be the way to go, take bag outside, wheels off and into bag, lift in the house. Done.

If you are going to use a bike bag in the future, eg travel/ bikes in hotel rooms etc, then buying a decent bike bag is worth it. Get the biggest one you can that fits in your car.

I keep mine in the house,
just wash it first.

Even cleaned i don’t think her indoors would be happy!

Does the garage rebuild involve any concrete going into the ground?

It doesn't need a cover, just something under it. I got some kind of plastic sheeting from Dunelm, think it might've been a table protector or something, the important thing was it was red with spots so looked a bit Cath Kidston 😀

cheers for the replies gents. I do have a chain reaction bike bag that i coulduset like the velosock option as less bulky (and may be more acceptable to the wife as.funky colours available). No concrete work just a new roof on the garage.

My suggestion that it could live in the bedroom went down.....well badly!

Where do you find this?

Perhaps ironically, what was our garage is now a kitchen…

Due to lack of garage, we had a storage area for bikes built inside the house… the key issue being the difficulty of getting bikes on the house insurance without lockable storage.

I just keep whichever bike I’ve been riding/am working on in the utility room, along with the fridge, freezer, washing machine, dishwasher....
I do clean them first and it’s a quarry tiled floor.
What’s the worst that can happen?

Got 4 muddy bikes, two kaysks and a stack of my fishing gear in a downstairs room in the house.

I only have to wheel/drag them through the kitchen/living room/hall to get them where they're going 🙂

I'd recommend Match.com orEHarmoney. Have friends who've found success.
