You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
£317 (down from £500) at the moment and a good range of sizes and colours.
I must say very tempted for a 21" HJ on the basis that my 19" Soul with 410mm seatpost has the bare minimum 10cm insertion - which makes me paranoid. Also I can't run a gravity dropper because they're not long enough.
Stiffees cheap too
And someone posted on here, Evil Sovs also very cheap. Well, arguably still too expensive for a gaspipe frame 😉 But a huge discount and competitive on price with your BFes etc.
Handjobs going cheap-lets crack one of those out
😆
A cheap handjob will never end in love
if you ride woody singletrack, get superlight wheels and a 100mm fork, they are soooo much fun.
Just sold my old Gravity Dropper. It was 425mm long fully extended. Is that not long enough?
If anyone is after a 17.5", www.tritoncycles.co.uk have a red one in stock for even less at £245
Damn I wany an evil sov now 🙁
Would never pay the rrp for one but £299 (with another £12 off too) is tempting...

Similar situation, just wondering if the 21" will just be 'tall' and obviously a bit gate like
dont go bigger than the 19.5, the 21 has a stoopid headtube.
BigRich - my Soul has a 120mm HT plus 3cm spacers, up-angled stem and high rise bars. The Cove has a 152mm HT so it'd be fine. As for forks, it's 120mm I've got.
TimC - I think big bikes look a bit freaky, but so do normal bikes with bars/stem/post at max extension. I can't see the TT of the Cove getting tangled up in one's legs though.
Rickos - where do you get a 425mm dropper?
I got that one a year or two ago direct from GD in the States.

Look on the Buy Now side and it goes through the spec for you - left/right lever, 1 and 4 drop, etc. and in there is the bit to choose a 425mm long post. The dollar is quite weak at the moment too...
taken the plunge crimsondynamo?
I know it's been 8 months, but this thread is again relevant as another batch of HJs seem to have hit the market. (£300 at CRC).
The reason I didn't get one last time is that with my 120mm forks the seat angle would be only 70.5 degrees, which is a full 2 degrees slacker than the Soul. This would make climbing the very steep stuff a wheelie-fest. Some of the stuff I ride in the Pentlands on the Soul I'm right on the nose of the saddle (if anything I think the Soul is slightly on the slack SA side).
Cant say I'm not tempted though!
Surely there is a joke in here about a £300 handjob?
.... I know, very poor. Been a long day a work today!
I'm rather tempted by one of those. Pardon my newbie ignorance, but at 6ft 3, could I get away with the 19.5? I've got a 21 Gary Fisher Big Sur and would prefer something a little bit more compact.
Not a chance at 6'3" I'm afraid. I'm 5'11" and had a 17.5" one with a 90mm stem to try and get the reach right. Realised it was too small for XC / trail riding in the end and sold it.

I'm 6'2 with a 35" inside leg and my 19" Soul is right on the limit of ok. But being right on the limit means I have loads of exposed post (30cm) and experience "seat post bounce" whenever I fail to keep a steady rhythm.
I've taken the plunge, 21" in blue ordered.
My previous chat on the angles was total bollocks. I hadn't twigged that Cotic quote their angles sagged and Cove quote them static. When compared properly, the angles of the Soul and the Handjob are nigh on identical.
