To get a Pike and Evol shock insured is £50 odd...!

Any other suggestions?

(or anyone go Stirling to Dunkeld this week?)

Hermes will be much cheaper and it'll probably arrive fine.

But why send something such a short distance? Just go for a ride at Dunkeld and drop them off. Great trails there!

Hermes are just awful, at the mercy of their local 'self employed' couriers. If Things go wrong, they are hopeless to deal with. I have had five failed deliveries this year out of seven attempts. Two items were lost during the standard 'return to sender' after three failed 'attempts at delivery'

I have always  used DPD to send forks and shocks

Because the real cost is a day off work.

That's a perfectly reasonable explanation, but assuming you're sending to a servicing place - I'd ask whether there might be somewhere I could drop them in on the weekend then head up for a ride or hike up Birnam Hill.

Not that I'm trying to micro-manage you.

😉

I just used Royal Mail/Parcel Force to send some forks having tried to find cheaper trustworthy options, it was £15 fully insured 48hr (although actually arrived the next day).

That was cheaper than the options I found online (even for the same service, through Parcel2go) and if there had been a shock in there it wouldn't have affected the price. I think it only jumps up at over 5kg, and over 1.2m long.

They even do a collection service these days, but it's £1-2 more. That's still more cost effective than if you have to spend an hour going into town, paying to park etc. to send them otherwise. Or you can drop off at local Post Office/Depot for incrementally cheaper prices.

If you are sending them to Flotec for service they do a collection service for £15.

You could also get them serviced in Stirling.

If Dunkeld has nothing to do with suspension service and just a random location ignore my yammering.

Tell me more.

It is Flotec in Dunkeld - I asked about courier last week, they said they only did delivery back...

I was just going by their website (says collection £15 on the right, £17 on the drop down menu, return is £9.50)

I think a lot of people just post and hope for the best, costs a lot to replace if it goes missing, but £50 seems a bit steep!

I didn't know SBD did shocks.. Hmm, might have to save a trip to Dunkeld.

Anyone used them for suspension service
