I know someone on here will know the answer......

The parting shot pans through a very beautiful green valley with a stream running along it. I notice there seems to be a path that would look to be a fantastic place to ride...

..but where is it?

I know they were in North Wales near Llandudno so my guess is the north wales coastal path.
Its fantastic 🙂

They did a piece a while back on the credit shots, most are in or around the Lake District. The valley is Langstrath at the head of Borrowdale.

Any serious answers....?

It looked like a loop that mbr did several ( 6 poss 8 ) months ago. I'm sure it's Wales.

How much more serious do you want my previous answer to be?

That's a brilliant crofty response 😆
But it's no good saying it could be Nationwide, I think the OP was hoping for something a bit more specific

Maybe a picture would help us in your quest? Or maybe whitestone has it correct?

Whitestone is correct, Langstrath valley was their early summer heading up to Stake pass, recognised it on countryfile straightaway.

Thanks Whitestobe. I'll take a look. You posted whilst I was typing.

Is there good riding there?

It reminded me of the MBR feature on the Doethie Valley

all these years I didn't realise there were actually woods behind nationwide in Swindon, just assumed a high street branch, not the HQ
Strava throws up the Croft trail in front of nationwide and a micro enduro stage behind ..

@tymbian

I've walked but not ridden there myself but it's been mentioned on a few threads over the years.

It's a bit flatter (relatively) in the valley bottom than Doethie, the paths aren't cut in to the hillsides the same.

Countryfile actually did an episode where they went through all the footage in the opening and closing sequences.

What it lacks in altitude difference it more than makes up for it with the rock-gardens...( can just be seen in the photo )

Hi
I've riden in the langstrath valley a bit.
You can do a loop up langstrath the carry up stakes pass
Then to angle tarn round to sty head tarn then down to stockley bridge.
Be prepared for a fair bit of hike a bike and some cracking technical descents. I don't think it's a great distance mane 20 miles buts it's a tough 20 miles !!
If I can find a pic I will post 1 up
