Has anybody recently had problems with cycle retailers displaying stock for products they don't have but are happy to take payment for! Twice now with well known retailers I've ordered product that shows as being in stock, or availabe within ten days, when the retailer in fact has no idea of when the product will be available for shipment. They are however happy to take payment for these goods! Seems a bit unethical to me. i'm pretty sure Amazon for instance only take payment once they've shipped the product? Am I asking too much? 🙄
Tredz?
Pretty much they can but don’t want to. There are a number of reasons:
1. Chances are; if you see “out of stock” you will immediately go somewhere else
2. There is little better for a retailer than to know they will sell at least x items as soon as they are in stock - the less time you have goods, the better
3. If the item is not shown as it is out of stock or it is marked as such, it will reduce its prominence on Google searches.
