You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
PHE Covid19 rules apply with NO exceptions.
So, it's all a bit shit event wise, but, here's a loop you may wish to pursue at your own leisure over the festive / new year period.
Same ethos applies: be fully self sufficient, ride at your own risk, be prepared for foul weather & carry extra clothing, use day lights, don't be a dick.
Starts @ Felt Cafe, passes: Sherston stores, Chavenage House Cafe, The Hog @ Horsley & Horsley village stores, finishes @ the Stroud Brewery. Check on their opening & Covid policies.
Route available at AllTrails:

IMPORTANT - @ Frampton Mansell level crossing you MUST follow the crossing instructions, DO NOT assume it's safe to cross because others in front of you just have. The crossing is on a blind bend and controlled.
Be prepared for mud, lots of mud, wet feet, walking / dragging / carrying your bike.
Will suit: CX, fat bike, XCO, enduro, gravel, unicycle etc.
Once completed it'd be a nice gesture if you'd chuck a few quid into a charity box of your choosing, thank you.
This years edition is a bit haphazard and info can be found across a number of social media channels:

Can I query this bit:
use day lights
What does it mean?
What does it mean?
Sure, it's a suggested safety thing, rural roads, fog, dim days, failing light, late finishing, being safe, etc. Using lights in the daytime on the roads around here in the winter is very sensible.
I shall give this a go, should be plenty of mud!
QWERTY is correct on the day light thing, I live here too and always have lights on as S Cotswolds drivers need all the help the can get 👍
Oooh will have a look at this once I get ensconced in Stroud!
I fancy doing this ride - but in the summer when its dry and warm. Or perhaps if it freezes over in the winter and its one of those crisp cold but blue sky sunny days.
can I wait until spring? trails will be firmer and I might be able to sit inside a cafe/pub/brewery
Won’t be able to make this as I usually drive down from Derby (doesn’t seem a necessary journey!) but enjoy anyone who does it. Will maybe do something local on the day instead.
The bit behind the arboretum is particularly sticky and sloppy at the moment 👍
Broad Drive in the Arboretum will lull them into a false sense of smoothness before the Spinney. Unless the dog walkers are out in force ;-). Enjoy!
Broad Drive in the Arboretum
Ah that heady combo of firm gravel and the bewildered looks of walkers, makes you forget about the impending slop
One thing you will get is plenty of Mud and more mud a lot of rain around this month in Gloucestershire.
Frampton Mansell level crossing
The level crossing is closed and impassable, carry on down the lane, turn right under the railway arches and follow the track to the pair of houses, head up the grassy incline, through the gate to the other side of the level crossing, and then embrace the mud!
