Last year Rickie Cotter and I did a cake and tea ride which was lovely, great STW turn out and some good money raised. Quite a few have been in touch regarding another outing this year.
How does a camping option sound plus food? I have a couple of potential beautiful options, one with great facilities, one more basic but beautiful none the less. Rickie has a big full days ride in mind with peel off options. I could deploy the Cotswold massive tea/lunch van and we can do a big meal and fire for afterwards and bring and share cake. Our good friends at Saddleback and Fabric are on board, so hopefully there will be some goodies to increase the donation pot.
Food and camping (might be able to do the camping for free) at cost, and donation to the charities would be all that's required.

Count me in Tang , unless the route is very long and in entirely the wrong direction , camping won't be required for me .

Yes. I can do the first two weekends of Oct, middle one unlikely, last two definitely not.

Hell yes! Enjoyed the last one a lot, so would be happy to go again. I'd be tempted to bake something too; there was a really good selection last time and i felt a bit guilty about not contributing something.

I take it that, by camping, you mean sleeping in a van...

Arse, can't do that weekend as my wife is running a half marathon at 9am on 2nd. Don't think I'll make it back home in time for that!

Sounds awesome though and I'm sure everyone will have a great time based on the ride last year 🙂

Edit: Aha may be able to come after all as it looks like she may have put the wrong date in the calendar. Brilliant 🙂

Yep put me down as a definite maybe.
It just depends on the day and the route really. 🙂
I'd prefer a Sunday TBH

EDIT
just re read the OP. Sunday isn't going to work for camping after is it? Ignore me. I should be able to get a Saturday off with enough notice.

Hi All

Yes its def a day ride now, still waiting on venue confirm! I should know by tomorrow, sorry for the delay. If push comes to shove you're all coming to my house, I've got space!

Format will be the same as last year; meet morning, tea coffee, faff. Ricky ride followed by more cake and I'll get something hot cooked. Saddleback have dipped their hands in again for some goodies...

Morning everyone

Venue is sorted, same place as last year!

Ruskin Mill College
The Fisheries
Horsley
Gloucestershire
GL6 OPL

The plan is:

Depart at 10 -10.30 and aim to be back by 2-2.30, Rickie Cotter will lead the ride and I have requested socialish pace! Kettle will be on from 9am.

I will provide the tea and coffee plus some hot food on return (Curry and rice or big Autumn soup and rolls)

Please bring cakes for the #ForJenn table and a donation for her nominated charities.

Saddleback will be donating some more quality kit at knock down prices so come prepared! I will try and give a heads up on whats on offer.

We will raise a mug to Jenn and spare a thought on the trail for those I'm sure we all know battling with the big one.

Lovely. Sounds perfect. I'll see if Mrs PP can do her thing with some food. The pork pies went down well last year, so I'll see if she can do something savoury again.....

Please scroll up and note Its 'The Fisheries' If you are coming from the A46 you will see a sign for Ruskin Mill and cafe, don't turn in here. Keep going up the hill to the next left turning. Peel left and left again into the carpark. Its a bit confusing as the college is called Ruskin Mill is quite a large site with multiple entrances.

Hope you all enjoyed the fantastic weather today, looks set to be dry this way for the week ahead!

I'm going to be in the area (sadly without bike) this is the area I first ventured off road back in the 80's 🙂 so may well rack up in the afternoon to donate/meet some of the Cotswold/STW Massive.

So if you see Ton's body double looking lost its me 😉

Box of assorted Castelli is coming. Cash only at ridiculously cheap prices, cash only and all proceeds to the nominated charities. Nice one Saddleback. If you have any Chris King questions, Ross the main tech guy at Saddleback will be riding.
Just shopped for the Curry, which I'll be cooking when you're riding. I'm going to try to join the ride for a bit if it looks all doable!
