Having a mare trying to fit some Avid BB5 cable discs to my old Roadrat with Roadhog forks. When fitted, the calliper on the fork is sitting marginally too far out from the wheel and the disc is rubbing on the caliper.
I've checked that the disc is true and that the caliper is sitting flush to the mount, so the next step would appear to be shimming out the disc mount to the fork, however I'm a bit nervous about sticking 1-2mm of washers in-between fork and disc mount as it just seems a bodge.
Has anyone else had any trouble with getting disc callipers to sit properly on these forks??
Thanks.
Mine is the same. Built up the gap with washers.
Washers it is then! Cheers.
In the old days, shims were the only way to align the caliper. Post mount has mostly removed the need to shim, but not entirely/always. It's safe/normal.
