So I'd like a winter roadie / training bike / fireroads on.

I've got lots of nice mtb 9 speed kit thats worth not much so I'm wondering, short term would it work with this frame? Also got a spare set of mtb 29er wheels too, so could be a relatively cheap build.

And then, when I'm feeling flush look to convert to drop bar with road groupset (maybe hand me down from the current road bike)

What do you think? Would it work with a flat bar / mtb kit short to medium term? Any other frame option to consider?

Frame & fork costs £325, so budget around £400 ish with the potential extras

Further potentially dumb question - do BB7 work with normal road levers designed for v brakes (like a 105 lever?)

for the last Q

just fit the Tiagra STIs and make sure you use the Road version of the BB7.

was advice on another thread for a drop bar setup using a tiagra groupset

I've got my eye on the escapade too

But there's also a planet X alloy road disc on its way with big clearance and mudguard mounts etc
