Anyone ridden there? Tips on where to base a holiday? Bike rentals?
All help welcome!!
A roadie-based previous thread here. The last time I looked, there wasn't much bike-hire around of a moderately-serious nature, just cheap MTB's for hire in a few places for folk to tour within 10 mile radius on easy paths.
Innumerable tracks, trails etc. everywhere, you'd really want to know where you're going if headed properly off-road. A few forest-adventure type places, or Parc Aventure, have emerged recently which would be worth exploring - moderate to hard walking paths that could be pretty fulfilling, but I'm not sure of the 'legalities'. L'Ospedale in the south has wonderful lush pines, while Vizzavona joins onto the GR20 walk for a bit, which is properly awesome. Shameless example of the views -

Went cycle touring for our honeymoon there in 2002. Beautiful place - real remote and unspoilt feel to it. Big hills and pretty wild. Great beaches and snorkelling. Would go again tomorrow - couldn't recommend it highly enough for road cycling. No idea about off road though but would imagine there are a huge number of trails to explore.
