Full suss carbon MTB (shop bought, big brand) bought November 22nd. Not ridden until December 30th (dry). Not ridden again until Feb 2nd (dry). In total (Strava) ridden 20 times to date - 80% local fair weather loop because I've got a treadmill and indoor bike setup (not this bike) for bad weather training. Two enduros this month. At the Macavalanche I "bikewashed" it with wet wipes because I hate jetwashes. Innerleithen was wet and muddy. Stored indoors in living area away from damp.

Somewhere along the way (March probably) I had a few thoughts about pre-emptive greasing of bearings but when a bolt didn't shift at first attempt I put it in the "I'll sort it in a bit" category. When I finally got round to doing that work last Tuesday (two days after Inners) one anodized aluminium pivot bolt was seized.

So a less than six month old (premium) MTB with hardly any encounters with inclement conditions and light use has got a seized bolt that I wouldn't have thought has been provoked by anything I have done.

Warranty fix or owner neglect?

Aluminium next to a stainless bearing, nice bit of galvanic corrosion.

Had fun getting a pivot bolt out of a carbon patrol, no grease anywhere!

It's probably just that the loctite on the pivot bolt is doing its job properly.

6 months old? I'd be pushing for warranty. That said, what has it seized to? I'd be a bit cross if I had to push for new bolt/bearing, I'd not be surprised, though possibly disappointed, if I got a bit of push back if it were a "whole" frame.

I'd not be making anything of the mileage or weather, it'll either be obvious from the condition of the bike or it won't and given its been 6 months of winter if it isn't obvious from the condition it'll sound like BS.

I had a bit of trouble with a pivot bolt. 10 years of being stored in a damp shed and put away damp. It shifted but the Alan key jumped damaging the hex hole. But it went back in ok

When you say siezed do you mean won't move? Bolt snapped? Alan key rotates in hole? If it's just the first all ask the retailer to undo it

I think the law should be on your side with this
