I'm pondering a long ride in the Highlands this weekend since the weather in southern Scotland looks terrible, while the weather up north looks good.
I know there was a lot of snow about in some bits of the Western Highlands last week - does anyone have any idea what it'll be like around Fort Augustus at the moment?
I think the pass will be fine, it's been quite warm over that way this week.
I'd be more concerned about cold and wind this weekend.

Creag Meagaidh on the right, taken on wednesday
Yeah, I didn't have much fun in the wind on some of the tops last weekend and am unsure if I can be bothered with that again.
I take it wind can howl through the pass, even a north easterly?
I'm open to suggestions for alternative big MTB rides.
Clambered down to the beach there in March and it was frozen solid!
Just a little further North, I can confirm that the Strathfarrar round is currently passable with one small snow crossing as of two days ago 🙂
Spectacular day out 😎

That looks bloody lovely. I'm pondering something higher on Sunday after this but my suspicion is that I'll just get gusted off the hillside.
there is an etape event round loch ness this weekend, and asscociated road closures - beware
Shorts and t shirt weather at the moment. Corrieyairack should be fine. Weather is supposed to break on Sunday. That’s when the Etape Loch Ness is on but they should all be through Fort Augustus by breakfast time.
