Heading down to Cornwall for a week this weekend. Any good off road routes? I'm in a motorhome so will be moving around a bit.
I'm in Helston (down west near the lizard) and locally my routes have a fair portion of road linking half decent trails together, there are bits around but the best of my local trails are the coastal paths but these are busy this time of year and illegal all year round! I ride regularly on the coast between Helston and Mullion which consists of great singletrack and great views, you have to choose your time wisely though. Carn Brae near Redruth has some good but fairly short technical rocky trails and Poldice valley is also worth a look with something for everyone including some pretty big jumps etc if your that way inclined, Idless woods is another place worth a visit over in Truro with some nice trails (horrendous in the wet but should be drying out nicely now at last). The coastal paths around Perranporth are also worth a dawn raid or night ride as they are very busy this time of year.
Give me a shout next week if you end up down my way and i'll see what i can do.
justatheory - I have a Bodmin Moor loop on GPX 12 miles including the steep descent off Caradon Hill plus a stop @ a great T shop with superb cakes - if you want it pm me (addy in profile) I'm off there tomorrow for a blast too 8)
