My pikes are fitted with the pop loc handlebar remote without the compression adjustment, Is it possible to convert them as i've removed the remote from my bike and dont use it.

Ive had the motion control out and theres a spring it it which returns the cartridge to open, Is it a case of removing said spring and fitting a compression adjust topcap £20 thats it and jobs a goodun?

Yep. You gotta flick the spring off it's little stub inside the MoCo unit with a screwdriver. It's fiddly and needs to be repeated 3 times to totally release all spring tension. But it'll behave just like a non remote once the new topcap is fitted with a O-ring under it to provide some resistance to stop it moving of it's own accord.

This is for Rebas, but Pikes are all but identical

It's not hard!

You say the above is for Reba's, will it be the same for a brand new pair of reba's that I bought from merlin cycles?

I looked at doing this for some Rebas; don't you have to replace the damping cartridge too - they're different in the SRAM RS drawings?

As long as it's not an XX damper should be fine. I'll have the conversion kits in stock tomorrow. 😉

Fitted my conversion kit last night supplied by Loco and used PP's instructions. The little spring was fiddly to get off but no problem apart from that. Cheers Both. 🙂
