Does anyone know if it is just simply a case of changing the lowers?
I take it I'd also lose about 10mm of travel (so my 160/130 would end up 150/120)?
Any advice appreciated.
Cheers
I think my conclusion was that, whilst it could probably be done, it'd cost a fair bit and it's probably easier / cheaper to simply sell the old ones on and buy 650b one.
It's not just the lowers, the crown has a different offset I think, and you'd need to buy a new spring assembly to keep the travel the same.
Here's my thread on the same topic a few months back.

I can get the lowers for about £160 (without stickers)...but if the bridge also need changing it would be a PITA. That said not sure a few mm offset would make that much difference and losing 10mm of travel would be OK for the frames I'm thinking about. Will ponder some more.
Is the gain worth the expense?
How much faster, more fun will your bike be.
Will the 15.2mm gained in wheel radius either raise the bottom bracket and effect centre of gravity or give more greater something ?
Lets be clear
New wheels
New tyres
Modified or bodgef forks
Higher bottom bracket
For 15.2mm of wheel radius?????
Sorry I'm out
12.5mm in wheel radius actually. Or ~80mm in circumference.
Omg it gets worse
Saying that, my 27.5 bike is rad to the power of awsumly sik... 😛

I'd assume that the op wants to make the forks compatible with a new frame. 😕
