Hi all,
i have a pair of dual position 2017 Lyric forks I would like ideally switching to solo air. Is it just a case of swapping air shaft and top cap or am I overly simplifying things?
cheers
Not that simple unfortunately. the equalising (between + and - springs) notch inside the stantion isn't there in the dual position so you can't convert without swapping the uppers. That's expensive and not really worth it.
I switched from a dual position pike to a tf tuned coil conversion which has improved things a little, in hindsight I think I should have sold the forks and bought another set.
Is that the same on the lyrik then? Happy to sell and replace if that’s the case.
It's the same across all RS forks with solo/dual air springs

??? What wasn’t worth it?

Thanks for the help. I had dropped TF an email asking same question! Should’ve known to ask the forum first, my google skills were obviously not wildly off track either as I picked nothing up. Also saves me dropping the lowers and internals myself.
cheers

Whoops, just about to try the same with my Dual Position Pikes. Luckily I also have a solo air Pike with decent stanchions (and spotted this thread!) so I guess I'll be using them. The lowers are a bit tatty but I assume the lowers will swap over without any issues.
