I have Hope Pro2 rear hub with a DT RWS 10mm bolt through axle. I need to use a QR skewer to tow a trailer. Do I just need a 10mm diameter tube of something strong that the QR will fit through, cut to the appropriate length?
I would add that I don't want to permanently return to QR, only when towing.
Think you need the axle and the end plugs. I've the evo version which just needed the end plugs*
*i have based this on a picture I think I've seen and can't be sure.
Aren't the Pro2 10mm bolt through only? Think there have been old threads on here about the axles being prone to snapping?
Maybe get an Evo rear hub so it's just the end caps you change.
Yup, as above you'll need the axel and end caps to convert. It's a bit of a pain on the non Evo hub but defo doable
Hmm...
I want to be able to quickly set up to tow, not faff about with axles, bearings and drifts.
Why can't I just put a 10mm axle (say from a Shimano rear hub) through the middle and use a QR? Ideally it would be non-threaded.
This not fit?

OP - yes.
A couple of mm shorter than the width of your (clamped) dropouts.
