Used to run conti ust tyres and they were spot on for my 26" wheels.
Now moved to 650b and protection apex is as good as they get which isn't anywhere close. Had two sidewalls fail in as many months or really innocuous trails.
So, what else is robust enough for bashing around the peak district?
Found it to be fine on the front, over winter, on a Der Baron Projekt - in the Peak.
Not sure I'd trust it on the rear though - it's only Specialized Grid or Schwalbe Supergravity for me on the back now.
My Baron Projekt has taken loads of knocks over the last 8 months, riding peaks, lakes few times in Wales, no problems.
It's relatively early for me, by so far, it's suitable tough and has allowed me to run lower pressures without snakebites this last couple of months.
Most of the sidewall is equivalent to schwalbe snakeskin, whilst the centimetre or two nearest the bead has an obviously the insert.
Seems well thought out - a lighter approach to a tougher tire without going super gravity or dual ply, which a don't really need.
