Hi All, wanting to go to Conti Kryptotal at 2.6 front and rear on my EMTB, but only seeing a 2.6 rear. What are people doing about this? Is running a rear on the front a bad idea? I do see the tread pattern is different to the front specific version. Thanks!

I have a Kryptotal Rear that I got cheap that I'm planning to run on the front, I have it on good authority that Valli Holl does the same so I reckon it'll be fine!

Yeah quite a lot of people are mixing these up and running rears on fronts, fronts on rears etc.

There's definitely a 2.6 enduro argotal too... Spikier tyre obviously but it's a surprisingly good allrounder

The 2.6 Keyptotal F did exist, I have seen one in the flesh, but seems to have disappeared

I've seen plenty of people with a Re on the front, presumably as the fronts have at times been more difficult to get hold of. I have both, the Fr is a bit rounder profile.

Ben Cathro said the Fr has smoother transition from centre to edge, and the Re has a firmer cornering hold and clears mud better. That was for the 2.4.

Funnily enough the cheap rear came from the sadly defunct Pinkbike team. The YouTube series was one of my favourites
