Has anyone tried Continental 700 x42 Crossrides on a Vaya or similar.
I guess I'm interested in how they manage on multi-surfaces - grass, rocky areas and road.
Also for fit on a Vaya which in theory should be able to take this size of tyres.
I'm wanting to do some touring with a tent next year - mostly on road but some linking sections would be more suited to a mountain bikes.

They'll fit. I've run 700x42 Conti Cyclocross on my Vaya without a problem.
I've also got a pair of CrossRides (seemed a great tyre for the price!) but have only just fitted them so can't comment on the ride except to say I think they'll be a touch overkill if you're mainly going to be on the road.
I've used 700x37 folding Conti TravelContacts for the kind of riding you're describing. They're a bit heavier than the CrossRides but very tough, roll well on the road and surprisingly good off road for a tyre with a smooth strip down the middle.
I've got 700x40c WTB Nanos in mine, lots of space either side.
Bugger, I hadn't seen the Crossride, looks good. Can't see a black chilli version though?
