I have ridden quite a bit around coniston and wondering if i am missing owt?

Is wetherlam worth the effort? Or stick to the saddle though coniston fells to the copper mine ?

Planning in doing awesome DH/real steep DH out of the copper mines.

Love church beck and riding off the old man. As well as the trails above the coppermines.

What bis the off piste like off parka moor? Is it worth doing as part of a lap of coniston water or stick to the BW down to high nibthwaite?

Quite like the climb behind Torver up to walna scar road and down to the back of the sun inn too.

Will have my family so can only do a few hours max.

Planning on lapping the lake with my kis (8-12) and also parking at moor top and riding down either to coniston or wry castle at some point too.

Anyone got any more ideas please?

Wetherlam's worth the effort imo. I did it a couple of years back. Tommy c hype has a YouTube video of it if you look on his channel - probably a couple of years back too.

You can also get into the grizedale off piste from there too. Beware though - it's *death on a stick* with any wet on it at all.

Yeah. Wetherlam is calling me.

Canne beat a bit of grizledale off piste for blasting.

BW down to high nibthwaite?

Eh? Are you sure? The only bit I know from Nibthwaute is the BOAT up to parkamoor/ three witches. No way you'd want to ride down it. Is there another BW I'm unaware of?

Wetherlam- I thought it was a bit shit TBH. There's a thread on it if you search.

OMC was fun, or would be without crowds. Though the top bit was way out of my league.

Dow/omc along the road ridge to little langdale was pleasant but not mind blowing

I also found Wetherlam a bit dull. It has good bits but ain't much cop.

I do enjoy the descent off the top of the Old Man but that's very cheeky. Best done in the evening.

Watching with interest as a few of us are heading for Windermere for a couple of days riding and currently lacking in definitive routes to tackle.

Mixed abilities group but ambitious. They all managed Heartbreak Ridge up near Ballater last year as some sort of reference. Any tips or suggestions welcome.

Couple of options from Komoot that have been floated:

Windermere Ferry route:

I'll also be heading up in a few weeks time.  Slightly hijacking the thread but found this helpful website, hoping it's still relevant?

Should have time to do a couple of good loops,  I'm doing the Borrowdale Bash for 1 ride - any recommendations on another greatly received.

I'm hoping to be up there in few weeks time, dont want to hijack thread but I'm in opposite position to OP and looking for some relatively tame routes rather than 'proper trails'! If anyone has any recommendations for some more beginner type trails then let me know!

Its a good guide. Some of those trails are near by and meet the brief. All are worth doing for anyone looking for inspiration
