I have an air compressor sitting in the garage gathering dust and it seems a waste that it’s sitting there doing nothing anymore.

I want to put it to same use so what do you folk use to convert or adapt from a standard compressor hose to fit a presta valve to inflate your tubeless?

Taa in advance

Chopped the end off and jubilee clipped a valve from an old track pump. £7 and job done

First thing - can I suggest a compressor?

You know, to blow the dust off...

If you google presta adaptor, you can get a tiny metal adaptor that screws onto your valve for a couple of quid (wiggle have one for £1.99 as the first search result for me).

TBH, most of the time I prefer to inflate with the valve core out for maximum air flow though, and then re-inflate with a track pump once the tyre has popped into place.

Edit: I do have the gauge/hose in the first pic posted above too, as it came with my compressor.

No idea why transplanting a pump head has never occurred to me, I just use the std attachment, who makes the best pump head that you can easily get hold of?

the std attachment is so BLOODY leaky that you'll scare yourself shitless the first time you use a proper pump head

(I think mine's a topeak, not sure and too rainy to go & look!)

I use a Topeak Smart Head which fits Schraeder and Presta valves  You can also buy the head only.

Don't get sealant inside it as it bungs up the works!

I don't recommend the Topeak Twin Head as the Schraeder side doesn't have a plunger that presses the valve pin inwards. Without the pin you are unable to bleed off air with the airline connected (assuming your gun has a bleed off valve).

We use the Aldi one along with their small compressor in the camper. Been sorting out some wheels and tyres on the campsite for the guys who had tyre and rim problems today. Worked a treat where Airshots were failing.
