Just bought some gusset compression less cable and you can barely pull the supplied inner through it!  Is this normal?  Should I be sending it back?

Also it's really. Stiff and holds its shape, again is this normal?

Cheers, Keith

Haven't used the Gusset stuff, but no, the stiff movement of the inner  doesn't sound remotely normal - neither the Jagwire or Yokozuna compressionless housing I have does this. The stiffness of the housing may be a thing, as I've not used the Gusset stuff I can't say for sure, the Yokozuna stuff is very stiff. Regardless of that, the inner cable should be sliding freely. Are you sure there's not a broken strand on the inner which is catching or similar?

Is this on a road bike - with drops?

Remember that tight bends should be avoided and so cause a problem on road bikes as there's a bend under the tape. Jagwire provide a flexible "noodle" for this section.

I've not even fitted them yet, just got them out of the pack and tried to pull the inner through.  Which I had done 2 days before with a standard cable no problem.   Think I may be sending it back.
