Hi There,

After much lurking, i've decided to take the plunge and join up.

I know this is another what bike question, but i just really wanted to get some opinion on this bike

I currently have a low spec hardrock that does quite alot of mileage as i live near to bedgebury. I've always fancied a full suspension but can't justify it financially at the moment, and don't know enough about them. This is on at 40% off and i'm just wondering if there is a good reason it is at this price!

Really interested to hear your comments

Cheers

Dan

here u go

in regards to the bike im not that impressed, if i was spending that kind of money id still buy a hard tail. that thing is going to be heavy and u are not spending enough on the forks and shock to make full sus such a benefit over a hardtail

u would be better of with something second hand or maybe something from pauls cycles (but maybe spending £1000)

just my opinions 🙂

2nd edit Alivio shifters on a £1250 bike! no thanks!

3rd edit Ideal starter full sus for most people:

I got a VGC second hand Commencal Meta 5 for £600, it's always worth having a look around.

The Vitus looks like a nicer option if you are looking at £800 max

Welcome to the forum, Dan. Don't s'pose you were at Bedgebury on Sunday with a mate?

I'd keep an eye on the classifieds, there are some bargains to be had. If you're confident, maybe build one up to the spec you want from new/2nd hand bits?

Thanks for the replies guys, sound advice in there. I have to pop over to Bromley next week so a trip to the Giant store might be an idea to get a better look at that Anthem.

I'm always looking at the classifieds to see whats around - i'm still a bit cautious with that approach but i guess if its a bike thats well maintained and it can be viewed easily its not so much of a problem?

Tom, I was meant to be there on Sunday with my mate Dan and a few others but couldn't play in the end, could of been him??!!

cheers

Dan
