My cheap foam bar tape has about had it, and has compressed.

Is there a bar tape which noticeably absorbs vibrations?

(A) have you tried gel pads under the tape?

(B) I find that I don't have to grip so hard using Lizardskinz DSP tape as it is sort of tacky. Not gripping so hard lessens the buzz

(C) are you just a bit nesh?

Currently running Supacaz which is noticeably squishier than the Fizik stuff I had before it.  Not cheap mind.

A) I've some 'banana' things under grip, but they have hardened. I'll put new ones in.
B) a good point, and the foam I have is not grippy.
C) Completely

I like Tortec Supercomfort.

The old pro teams' trick for Paris Roubaix was to double wrap the bars.

I tried the Lizardskin DSP after recommendations on here for a good bartape to use without gloves. Comfy, looks good but a bit of a faff to wrap as it doesn't stretch, expensive and ripped very easily. Now on Superkaz tape, good range of colours, can be bought for half the price of DSP and seems to be holding up well. Both comfy and good for riding without gloves.

I think I have Prime gravel comfort tape, 3.5mm gel. I've not seen anything available that's thicker. You could also wrap some old tape under the high usage areas for extra comfort

Lizardskins is comfy but wears out quickly. I've been happy with Cinelli cork gel tape.

I've been using Spank Flare bar tape and gel for a few years and wouldn't look elsewhere now. Very comfy and durable as well.

I think for a one off suffer-fest that might be OK, but I found over time it was uncomfortable, it significantly increases the diameter of the bar and my thumb joints in particular didn't like it.

I've used the new Enve stuff on my latest gravel build, it got rave reviews for comfort and grip. Is nice but possibly not £35 nice...

I've had best results in bar comfort on gravel bike by shifting saddle back and bars up and back, places centre of gravity closer to BB and takes a lot of weight off hands

Specialized BarPhat tape is good, and some giro supernatural gloves

I cut 3 inch strips of cheap bar tape and tape that to the bars where my hands go and then wrap the bars. I didn't get on with the gel inserts.

This gives the bars added cushion and a fatter grip for my big hands. It works for me.

The lizard skin stuff is good but pricey. Don't buy the white tape! 😂
