Bike isn't for me but as I look after this guys bikes I thought I'd ask the hive mind for suggestions on a 29er.

He's currently got a 26" Merida Carbon hardtail(that's already had one repair on top tube and the dropouts both sides are cracked and its only time before one explodes).

Full XC type, 100mm SID's and very very fast. Especially with him on it.

He's been on about a 29(or maybe even 27.5) for a while now but has been looking at Lynskey Ti bikes on Ebay.

Pure XC hardtail 29er suggestions then please, don't have a budget but it will all be 2nd hand parts I'd expect as he's a tight git.

Torus from clee cycles is a good bet. I know the clee race team who ride them. Nice bikes.

Lynskey On-One Ti 29er

Its my only MTB now. I love it. Clearance at the back isnt as much as Id like, but build quality has been fine. And Im a graceless 95Kg lump riding fully rigid. It really zings forward, but much of that may be down to 21lb weight.

A mate rides a Lynskey Ti 29er, bought prob 18 months ago.

Crest on Hope Pro 2 with Ralphs, Rohloff hub, XFusion Slider forks. He's about 5ft 8in and 15st and they go like a rocket ship. I can't remember the size he got but he felt it was slightly too large so put in a straight seatpost and negative rise stem.

Came 5th at Strathpuffer in Feb and is ready for Worlds 24hr Solo in Fort Bill in a few weeks.

Love mine, 120mm fork may or may not suit though.
