walked it.

Obviously the bits on the Quantocks ride fine, and through bits of the brendons is ok when dry then up onto exmoor there's sections through fields then a little moorland on the dunster path, then down into porlck is fine if dry.

I walked it back last winter and the conditions were dire, and looking at most of the terrian i can't think it will great fun on a bike for 50% of it.

cheers sharki, was at a pub in bicknoller and was chatting to a lad who'd just walked it, he showed me the map and said it would be fun on a bike but as you say looking at most of it, the terrain was kinda boring.
it snice to have the experts view on it..cheers!!

IFIRC...the route was concieved as a post FMD disease rural economy booster...optimised for multi day BnB based equestrian walking tours.

It great that such a route is waymarked and exits, however my recc. would be to study the map and if possible the ground too beofre committing 100% to the route as it stands. The route does traverse some amazing country.
