Had cold feet this morning which doesn't bode well for the Puffer next weekend. I have Shimano MT91's and had a pair of merino socks as a liner and waterproof socks over those. Plenty of wiggle room too. I've never had a bother with cold cleats before but this did seem to be a particularly cold spot, also last year at the Puffer I soaked one of my feet and it was frozen and tingly for a good week afterwards.

Anyway, are water[proof socks inherently cold? I', wondering if I'd be better off with a sock that kept me warm rather than dry. I will be wearing overshoes as well, I have a shell like pair and some neoprene type. Didn't have them on today but will next week.

So any tips? I'd hoped the MT91's would be enough for the cold and let me use them a bit more than just the coldest days of the year.

Get off and run every 10 minutes or so for a few paces. Get the blood flowing...

Foot Warmers - stick them to the bottom of your socks:

Wear more socks or both overshoes together.
