I've got my eye on a coil shock for my Rail and I'm looking to buy branded springs as cheap as possible, so fleaBay.

What are the implications, if any of buying a spring of the right weight but more travel than actually required?

Chances are it won't fit onto the shock body, but if it does, its a win.

Nukeproof were doing cheap springs, and even lightweight ones too.

As above, measure to see what you can take then go from there

Thanks @honourablegeorge that's fantastic.

I've seen them before but they were out of stock.

What size do you need? I've got a couple of 3" springs I keep meaning to sell

Ideally an Ohlins 571lb, but a 550lb will do to start. What is the overall length of the springs you've got, assuming you have anything the right weight.

I've been playing this game recently too, also for my Ohlins TTX. 2.25 is the size I have shopped for, cane creek vaults and nukeproof of 2.25 will fit (I believe)

FYI: there is a 571 ohlins spring on pinkbike at the moment

Thanks. It's for a 57mm stroke, my shock is 62.5mm, although I may need to fit a travel limiter.

I've used a 2.75 ti on a 2.5 cane creek db, only just fit but worked perfectly.
