This has probably been discussed at length but does anyone run a coil shock on a patrol? If so what are you running?

I believe the cane creek il double barrel on is popular but what else do you run?

DVO coil shocks are meant to be quite good on the Patrol

Transition's UK distro also distribute DVO suspension and their staff seem to like running the DVO coil shock on their own Patrol's going by their Facebook page

any coil from rockshox, DVO, fox, CC etc will do but just watch for the weight as the patrol mk1 and 3 have fairly linear leverage ratios.

I had an old Fox DHX4 that I got really cheap. Worked liked a charm and was a significant improvement not only in terms of tracking but poppiness as well. Loved it to bits but bike got stolen 🙁

it’s weird that transition say the patrol is too linear for a coil and designed for air but all the builds I see are running coil including most of their own bikes. You reckon someone just messed up and ordered too many air shocks so they are telling people to stick with them?!!
The mrp hazzard coil comes in the right size I think. It has a progressive spring option too which sounds like it could be good

What size is it? I've an RS vivid coil which is pretty much brand new. Size is 216x63

I run a coil on my suppressor - Their advice to me was the same above.

I’ve had a pushed Van RC a DHX2 and now got a ohlins TTX
VAN RC was the best as tuned for the bike by TF.
DHX2 was to much faff
(I like to fit and forget and not use lockouts)
TTX tuned by JTech is very good.
Coil on a patrol makes it a rock killing monster of a bike 🤘🏻

I feel a more progressive tune works best on my Patrol - I use a number of volume-reducing o-rings in my air shock.

So, I would go for a progressive tune myself - think that would be best.
