First time at Coed Y Brenin from July this year. Second attempt at an edit, no music this time. Pretty much all 'The Beast' highlights (dh bits 🙂 on either my head or James's (black top).
Filmed on a Gopro Hero White.
Mega day out we loved it, deffo ate way too much cake at the little house half way round.
Let me know what you think (banter welcome)

Nice vid. I guess you guys must have been on a skills course as some of that riding was pretty fast!

Nice edit and some good riding skills. Way quicker than I'd of been going for my first time there.

Cool edit, liked the bail at the beginning, particularly tricky gradient there or something?! Excellent modesty and self deprecation too, that was some fast and fluid riding. I liked that you had no music on it and it captured the happy woops and laughs. Looks like you had an ace time.

Yeah not sure what he did there, ha, lost the front on the easiest bit there. I agree nice to hear the teehees and whoops sometimes.

Nice chunk of views over night, thanks 🙂
I think I'll try the full hd view on the next vid rather than the black band either side I got with this setting.
Thanks again

Thanks bob seems the 'no music' policy is popular 😉

Yeah music tends to make riding videos seem lame unless you're going at Danny Hart speeds. Coed-Y-Brenin is lovely.

I guess the need for music started with a lot of slow motion footage?

I'm really not a fan of head-cam videos but this works, portrays the speed and the fun of a decent run like this.

I've only been to Coed-y-Brenin once. Way too much fire road, some of it is even downhill, what's all that about? However, the good bits are very good, if only they'd put a bit more effort in it could be really epic!

Contrast that to Cannock. I first went there 18 months ago when I first started biking, probably my 3rd trail centre visit and my memories were not fantastic. However after today's visit I thought it was great, they really make a lot of what little elevation is on offer, with some nice rocks every now and then and a nice new bit at the very end. If Coed-Y-Brenin took a leaf out of Cannock's book it would be unbelievably good!

From a personal POV it was really good to revisit Cannock and see how I have improved, a few things I found daunting last time were pretty simple today, so I am happy!

The Tarw trail has a little too much fireroad and annoyingly a fair bit down, but not the MBR/Beast - loads of singletrack.

It was Dragon's Back we did, found a lot of it boring tbh. Like I say, when it's good it's really good, Adam's family etc.

This was my second trail centre, only took to mtbing last December. Gisburn is the other I'd been to before coed Y Brenin. I found most of the climbs on the beast were fire road jobs. I read this was the old school trail centre design? To be honest I think if all the climbs had been technical singletrack I might not have made it all the way round haha.
Glad you liked it even though you don't normally like head cam vids 🙂

Dragon's back isn't a great one. Fairly long way and lots of big climbs, but the singletrack isnt as good as MBR/Beast

Cheers chrisdw, maybe I'll have to revisit and do one of those. My mate I did Dragon's Back with (DB) has done Tawr previously and said that was worse than DB so between us we've not got great memories, maybe it needs another chance with MBR or The Beast!

I love tarw but it's definitely a "ride it for the best bits despite the bad bits" kind of like the marin, rather than a totally brilliant package. Beast is just a great day out.
