Anyone tried this?
Frame is optimised for 140mm fork with 130mm rear travel
Just wondering how it would be with 120mm fork
bump for the morning
Why would you try this?
Unless the 120mm fork had a very long A2C you'll just be steepening the head angle and lowering the BB height.
It works very well with a 140mm and I seem to remember the original design being 140-160. You'd be pedal striking a lot with a shorter fork imo. As above why?
Only because it's what I have at the moment - could change the travel with new air shaft but just curious - it might climb better with a shorter fork
- it might climb better with a shorter fork
Probably, but it'll go down slower.
climbs pretty well as is with the steep seat tube. Still my fastest bike on some of the the tech climbs around the tweed valley with a KOM up (and down) in a few places

Apologies for the hijack but I have a Fox 34 Kashima 140 but need a 120 fork for my Solaris
Would you be interested in a swap?
Cheers

Hi Steve
Possibly although I don't even have the frame yet!
Mine is a 120mm Pike
Pedal strikes on the codeine are bad enough without having an even shorter fork, the bb height is pretty low as it is, get the airshaft. As frood has said, apart from finding mine a bit short it climbs really well especially when it gets techy.

That's fine by me.
Mine are a 2012 TALAS but not had a huge amount of use as I have lots of bikes.
Just had an overhaul and service by a mate who's knowledgeable.
Give me a shout if you want to chat about it further.

I built my codeine with 120 forks (because that's what I had), it was fine, good even.
If you have Pikes just get them extended to 140mm. My mate did and it didn't cost much.
