It's supposed to be loaded with potassium and a friend swears by it.

I had a carton in the fridge so, as a post-ride drink, have mixed some of it with Rose's Lime Cordial and diluted with water. It's rather delicious and definitely refreshing. 😀

Would really like to take some riding but guess it would need to be stored in an aluminium bottle. Anyone have experience of this?

Why would it need to be in an aluminium bottle?

Would it not keep cooler than, say, plastic?

Too much potassium is not good, from memory.

I'm sure someone more knowledgeable than me will be along, but sounds like a dodgy option.

Edit; sorry, just seen word 'diluted'!

Someone should call the doctor, even if it means waking him up.

It would be in addition to my usual (Torq) drink. I can't be the only person who craves something else to drink when cycling?

Getting back to lime cordial, I bought a bottle of Sainsbury's own brand and guess what it looked like. 😐 Tasted rubbish too. Rose lose a point though for using a plastic bottle. No good for childhood memories. 🙂

Yes, defo roses lime juice, beautifully sharp when diluted just right - funnily enough I filled my camelbak with it the other day 8)

also tastes perfect in a pint of lager...

however I normally use robinsons no sugar summer fruits in the camelbak, much more palatable than plain water,

I think you're better carrying a banana than coconut water.

Is that a banana in your camelbak or are you just pleased to see me?

Try squeezing a lemon into a bottle water with a pinch of salt & a teaspoon of honey.

Mixed nuts, a box of sun maid raisins and a banana .

Always peel mine first though.

I've tried it a couple of times on 30 mile rides. Seems ok to me & nicer than the usual energy drinks.

Just use it as a low-fat, natural isotonic drink - most of the health claims about it are bogus. It doesn't have much nutritional value and the minerals and whatnot are in such small quantities you'd have to drink loads for it to be beneficial.
You're right about keeping it cool too - it ferments quickly once warm.
