Hi All,

I know its almost impossible to trace noises unless you are there but am just looking for some pointers as to what to check.

I have a full carbon, full sus Canyon. The other weekend it got knocked over and landed on the drive side. Whether its just a coincidence or not, ever since it has developed a quite pronounced clicking noise. The noise appears to be drive related, it seems to be in time with pedaling. It can be heard when pedaling with a normal amount of load on the pedals, if I drop a gear/gears, upping the cadence and reducing load it seems to disappear, likewise if I really dig in and up the load it seems to disappear. I have started going round the bike checking that there is nothing obviously loose. For information it is running sram xx1 groupset (1x11).

Any suggestions greatfully received.

The most obvious thing to check is mech hanger alignment (preferably with a proper tool, looking at it usually isn't enough), if it's bent, then your chain won't align correctly with the sprockets, and the more gears you cram onto a cassette, the more critical the alignment becomes.

I've had front mech excess cable catching on the crank do this, easiest fix ever 😂
