Has anyone successfully replaced cleat nuts in road shoes?
A cleat nut in my Northwave fahrenheits has sheared off. You cant access the top of the nuts from the inside as the shoes are sealed. I could cut through the sole but the tongue is one piece so access is difficult, id imagine the final result being a right mess.
Im thinking of just drilling through the remains of the nut and into the shoe and then inserting a m5 t nut. I use superfeet innersoles so hopefully i wont feel the top of the nut (I tested using a coin and i cant feel it)
This is the second time its happened, first time i got some warranty replacements, these ones are over two years old so not sure if i should pursue that option.
