£50 budget.
Full frame style round the lenses.
Don't want safety specs.

Go!

These look good...

http://www.getgeared.co.uk/bobster-fat-boy-sunglasses-photochromatic?utm_medium=shopping_feed_gg15&gclid=CjwKEAjw7uKwBRDUlJvRo-z6rgMSJACbmSBhFrP6W76ncVkYKjebBHno9Yf46_0ZN2Cvo4GmV3nH6xoCPJXw_wcB&utm_source=google

but these are better and look superb..

http://www.mantel.com/uk/tifosi-dolomite-20-fototec?gclid=CjwKEAjw7uKwBRDUlJvRo-z6rgMSJACbmSBhqGg2yYRo-wqzR1Dudbyt2wnU0Sh7Bro3OFDg5ZrY3hoCCZnw_wcB

however neither are what you asked for as they are photochromic but will be clear at night and tinted the brighter it gets. i use photochromic through the winter as the sun is lower so gets in my eyes more than summer so this is the perfect solution.

These are great. Less than a tenner.
Sorry, they're safety glasses so not for you.
You're best off spending £50 for something not so good.

+1 for Bolle Contour clears. We have a few pairs lyign around and a few pairs of tinted. For £8 each , they are great value, fit well, and dont mist up.

I lost a pair in france this year and at £8 it's not the end of the world.

I'm glad he did though! Only about 30 min ago, when I got a fly in my eye halfway round my ride, did I think "I really should think about some clear glasses for riding". Think I'll be buying me a pair of those, cheers iolo. 😀

Why not safety specs out of interest? They're rated for higher impact protection than a lot of branded cycle glasses, meet optical standards for H&S / work purposes that some branded glasses won't, and meet the same if not better standards for UV protection as they have to for work use.

And you can get them full frame round the lens if you like 😉

I've had allsorts of sunglasses, as I spend a lot of time in glare (airline pilot) above clouds and on beaches. I used to spend a fortune on oakleys/Serengeti/raybans but now I use Bolle contours in various tints.

Safety glasses are just glasses that have passed impact safety tests. Perfect for a sport with the possibility of high speed impacts and flying stones I'd say?!?!?

Another +1 for the Bolle Contours. Really good, stay in place better than my oakleys. They don't look like safety glasses.

Fair enough. Some of the safety specs don't look they belong in a chemistry lab.

I'm never buying a Skoda Octavia though.

Go to TK Max, buy some sunnies, pop out the lenses and get the optician to cut some clear ones for them.

I'm tempted by these 😀
http://www.getgeared.co.uk/bobster-bugeye-goggles-clear

Been wearing Bolle Siliums for a while now, but having seen some facial injuries from similar styles over the past year, feel a little nervous about wearing a polycarbonate blade over my cheeks.

Anyone mentioned bollé yet?
I get them at work, but would happily buy them.
OP, send me £50 & I'll send you a pair with a rapha/giro/Santa Cruz sticker over the bollé bit.

I've had 2 pairs of these. Excellent value considering you get 5 lenses. Clear, yellow, black, weird orange and some other lens I can't explain. They look fine too.

Is that where your prejudice is coming from? Lots of "safety specs" (most?) you can buy nowadays don't look like they belong in a chemistry lab, because people mostly have the same requirements for them as they do for sunglasses - and they're made by the same companies who make sunglasses (back in the day you could pay £50+ for a pair of Bolle sunnies when they were trendy). I don't have clear ones myself, but I don't think anybody would realise my dark ones are safety glasses - they come in clear as well:

prejudice

Bloody hell, talk about escalating language. A little less Single Malt STW juice for you. I think the OP has taken the consensus on board with good grace and humour.

I've got a pair of Bolle's and they're decent. Tend to be dark when they're worn anyway!

Escalating language? Wasn't meant to be pejorative (apologies if taken that way), but I'm struggling to think of a different word which is more appropriate.

I bought a pair of those Madison Recon glasses as the venting looked good (and my m-frames misted up under heavy use)

[img] [/img]

The were good with only minimal misting, but the frame feels hard/rigid and they are a little uncomfortable with my mtb helmet, but OK with my road helmet.

Tried my mates bolles but the fit wasn't great for me.

m-frames are nicer, so might try to get some clear heater lenses for them.

+1 for the bolle but spend a little bit more and ensure you get a lens with both the anti fog (this works better than glasses I've spent ×10 on) and also the anti scratch coating which also works a treat when scrapping off the peaks gritty muck with gloves covered in muck

Prejudice?

Preference actually. Is that allowed?

The £5 ones I linked to apparently have both of those - I think most of the safety specs do.

Its the 'Platinum' coating you want, the Contours I have do fog up when cold and/or Damp but the Rush+ which has the platinum coating have stayed totally fog free.
