Morning All

I have an On One SCANDal frame that needs a good clean & polish prior to being built up tomorrow. Having never had an anodised frame before is there anything I should avoid using on it like the plague or is it just a case of crack on with the Fenwicks/Muc Off/Car Wash as before?

Will degreaser damage the finish?

Will beavers attack if I use the wrong unguant 😆

Sorry if this seems obvious but it never hurts to check 😉

Cheers

Wash it normally, if you want it shiny rub down with a rag and gt85.

GT85 does make the shiny, but Juice Lubes Fork Juice makes them uber shiny. It's a dream for the polishers out there, and it stops as much mud sticking to your bike.

I've been using Fenwick's FS1 (1:10 diluted) to clean my ano bikes for ages and they come up like new.

excellent stuff will get busy cleaning. Am planning to copter tape the frame, if I polish it first will the copter tape still stick?

Not heard of Juice Lubes Fork Juice but will investigate 😉

No, you should thoroughly degrease anywhere you plan on sticking heli tape using brake cleaner/methylated spirits/isopropryl alcohol or similar.

Let the heli tape stick properly before spraying it down with GT85 and a rag. Does work well though.

non of my mtbs look like new because I fall off and they get scratched out on the trails. How does anyone keep an mtb looking like new unless they don't use it?

With the frame being anodised can I still put copter tape on it or would that stop it sticking?

depends how 'lumpy' the finish is, and how hard it is, as to whether it's actually required. the anodising on our machines at work is very hard - i can apply a razor with some weight without marking it for instance. follow above advice wrt degreasing, and if it don't stick, it won't do any harm, will it?
