New summer road bike has white tape, which will eventually be replaced with black, but for now, what best way to clean it after a few rides, when it gets a bit grubby ? Standard Giant tape.

Thanks

1 - Remove existing tape.
2 - Fit Lizard Skins DSP. In black.
3 - Enjoy.

HTH.

depends what the outer surface is like - if it's shiny then some isopropyl alcohol might do it for a while. If it's "cloth" then go directly to post2

Stardrops is the best if vinyl or cork. Use neat if heavily soiled.

Dilute bleach.

Or just learn to do it quickly and buy cheap stuff. £2.99 bar tape and 10 minutes is barely more cost/faff than cleaning it every few hundred miles.

I use 3T Pro handlebar tape in white and i've never had any problems with it getting mucky. It's got a fairly smooth finish, wipes clean with a soapy sponge...

Just be a bit more careful not to get oily prints on it, but it comes up clean no problem.

Well worth it as an alternative to dull black!

I had white bar tape for a couple of months, then it went gray, no amount of cleaning made it properly white, just looked grubby all the time. If you ride with gloves on it gets manky quicker too.

I use black tape now 🙂

Muc off if cleaning whole bike. Baby/wet wipes if just addressing the tape.

Got white tape on my CX race bike and it is pristine after a wet muddy season that ate drivetrains and rear mechs.

Emulsion or for slightly harder wearing, satin finish gloss paint.
